Unable to use brand-new Bosch dishwasher

Hello -- I needed to call in my local appliance repair technician, who installed my new dishwasher, to see if he could explain why it won't complete a wash cycle, either "heavy" or "normal." His belief is that the heating element in the dishwasher is malfunctioning and is causing the circuit breaker to trip shortly after beginning the wash cycle. He is going to contact Bosch on my behalf with respect to possibly doing the repair/replacement. Needless to say I'm disappointed and frustrated, not only because of not being able to use the dishwasher but also because of the added cost/s of trying to understand the problem.

Hard to say what's worse

My Bosch dishwasher was installed on 4/23 and as of 5/29, I still have never been able to turn it on. It's hard to know say what's worse- the useless product that I splurged on, or the horrendously slow customer service Bosch provides. There is a two week wait any time you need a Bosch technician to come try to fix your useless dishwasher. When you get a lemon like mine, it requires multiple visits for them to attempt to fix it rather than offering you a functional replacement (I am finally expecting my second Bosch technician visit today). Maybe sometime this summer I will have a working dishwasher. Save your money and buy a cheaper and more reliably alternative.

Disappointing Decline in Bosch Quality & Function

This is our third Bosch dishwasher, and likely our last. It cleans really well - probably better than previous ones, especially as it gets dishes drier than before. And we love the quietness, which is why we're repeat customers. It does what it's supposed to really well. But, the first issue is how much of the functionality must be accessed through the app. Want a rinse cycle? Need to use the app? Do the "machine care" cycle? App again. Want to delay the start . . . now you need the app. But the app keeps getting worse and losing functionality, and has bad UI. What happened to including a couple more buttons? Next, Bosch still hasn't fixed the door rope issue from the previous version of this model - the reason we had to replace it. The ropes that are attached to springs to have the door open and close smoothly and without effort broke within two years. This is a product that should work 10+ years, but Bosch can't make these ropes last. Basic design flaw for it to still be happening.

Horrible Warranty Service

My dishwasher was only nine months old and still under warranty when it quit working in January and flooded our kitchen causing thousands of dollars of damage to hardwood floors. I've stayed home to meet three different Bosch appointed repairmen a total of six times and the dishwasher is still not working. It's been three months and they have still not not agreed to replace it. I submitted the purchase invoice and other information immediately upon request. The last two times I've called they said they needed to get information from the repair service company - which is, of course, their contractor, before they would replace it and that someone would call me back with an update. Which never happened. Horrible, horrible service.

Being almost 80 years old, we have gone through many, many dishwashers. We are just tickled with this Bosch- our first one! Love everything about it- the third rack for silverware is genius. Love how clean and shiny the dishes and glassware come out. The door closes beautifully, the racks are designed perfectly and it is so quiet you can't even hear it running. No doubt about it, Bosch is THE best dishwasher on the market.

Bosch Dishwasher 800 series

The dishwasher is fine and very quite. My only criticism is the racks verticle dividers are OK for plates but not so great for bowls small or large. They should stay a little more verticle but they always seem to fall forward and downward. The flatware holder is too fine and loading the forks, spoons, and knives fit but it takes some doing to put handles down into the holder. Wider openings in the rack would make things easier to load. I saved my flatware basket from my old Asko washer and not use that one instead of the Bosch one. The wine glass stems holder along the side, when put into position for the stemware, leaves open space under the stem holders that can not be used and therefore is wasted space on the side. I have 3 more photos to add but your site won't handle more.

We previously had a Kitchenaid dishwasher that required cleaning the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Not so with the Bosch. Just scrape them off & put them in. So far, only one pan with cooked on scrambled eggs did not come out clean. The only down side so far is that the dishwasher gets to stinking after a couple of days with the food residue on the dishes.

Have a full open concept kitchen, dining, and living area and needed a cabinet front, ultra quiet DW. BOSCH was the perfect solution. The first time I used it I thought I had made an error. I could not hear it at all and thought it was actually off. Put my ear directly on the door before I could hear it!! Please note that cabinet ready units require a specific panel weight to make the spring mechanism work. Be sure your cabinetmaker reads design limitations.

Washed Well -- Racks are Terrible

I retired my 17 year old Kitchenaid and replaced it with the custom panel-ready Bosch 800 series dishwasher. It washes very well (I use the short 1-hour cycle) and although I air-dry by opening the door and letting steam out, and maybe shaking the water off a few plastic things, the remainder dries very well (maybe some residual action from the mineral dryer -?). But, all three racks are ridiculously over-engineered and are not NEARLY as useful as the racks in my old Kitchenaid. The silverware 'rack' is also cheap and not very useable. Fortunately, I was able to use the rack from the old Kitchenaid. No rack tine clips are included to retain light things (like quart yogurt containers or other light weight items). In short, the interior really needs to be redesigned, but the machine washes and dries well, and is very quiet.

This dishwasher is very nice but the silverware compartment is a terrible design. I previously had the Thermador sapphire series and I decided to purchase a Bosch this time. For silverware, there are only three sections (bet short and fills up quickly) and the flip separator is unusable for my silverware. I have average silverware handles, but they are too wide to fit through the grid. And this compartment is in the side, but fits half way back so it is not convenient to quickly pop in more silverware. I bought this dishwasher in a rush and based on reviews and probably should have opened it up inside the store because now that I look, none of the online photos show the silverware compartment. Also, the entire bottom rack "prongs" are slanted - making it difficult for pots and pans and casseroles. Of course it washes good, but the design is lacking.

Washes & Dries Great - Touch Panel Horrible

The performance of the dishwasher is excellent. The Crystal Dry is everything they claim. What is horrible are the controls, because like the auto industry, manufacturers are I hope, temporarily also like the auto industy reverting back to actual buttons. If you have the dishwasher installed to the right of the sink, you WILL inadvertently turn on the dishwasher when your hand momentarily swipes the power button. If your dishwasher is installed on the left, no problem, except the touch controls are still a bit touchy!

We previously had a Bosch dishwasher and thought it was great. The last 2 houses we had an ASKO and have been very disappointed. The most recent house we purchased the ASKO dishwasher did not even work when we gought it and it was less than 8 years old. We decided to replace if with a Bosch 800 and could not be happier.

This is our second Bosch dishwasher purchase after 12 years. I like the panel ready version. I'm not a fan of any home connect appliances, so I'm not connected, therefore I'm also unable to use a simple short rinse cycle. Which my old Bosch had right ont he panel door. Other than that is a great dishwasher

Terrible machine

The lower rack is too narrow so it continually falls off the track. Called customer support and told them there is a extended wheel kit that fixes the problem. I was told the kit would not fit my machine. I ordered one from ebay and it fits fine and resolved our issue. The machine doesn't clean very well.

Disappointing !!!where's the delay start feature?

I have always bought bosch or thermador dishwashers. My recent purchase for a second home disappointed me that Bosch no longer offers a delay feature on the control panel Supposedly it is available if you download the app and set the dishwasher from that . I have tried that and failed to delay my wash twice, not to mention the annoyance that I can't just "set it and "forget it" on the actual machine BRING BACK THAT FEATURE!!! otherwise as always bosch is quiet and efficient but none the less I am disappointed

We love our Quiet Bosch 800

We were coming from a very expensive Viking dishwasher that we were not fans of. It broke several times and we were over the expensive repairs and rare parts. After doiong some research we thought the 800 Series would be great. So far we have loved it. The top cutlery drawer is a nice space saver and I love that you can add a power wash to the front or back of the bottom rack for heavily soiled dishes. Our dishes come out dry and spotless and we can barely hear it running. Our Viking was so loud, you could hear it throughout the entire house but we don't even know the Bosch is running most of the time and can only tell by the red light that is illuminated on the floor. I am very happy with it and we love that we were able to get it in the Panel-ready model so it blends in with our kitchen.

Quiet but not perfect

Despite using Jetdry and trying different cycles, there is often water left on the sides of the top rack. The bottom holes in the basket are also too small to accomodate anything but steak knives. Moreover my tall drinking glasses do not fit, unless I lower the rack all the way, in which case my large plates don't fit. The dishes do get clean and it's very quiet but I prefered my old Kitchen Aid.

I am happy with the way it cleans. I have a few issues with the racks. The bottom rack has no place to put something long, like a lasagna pan, unless you remove the small siverware holder. I am not at all satisfied with the silverware rack. There are 2 small plastice separators you can use as an option. One broke off within the first few months. The other is still there but will not stay up. I load the silverware in the groves but the areas where the additional separaters are are too wide so the silverware flops out when you open the rack. It must be reloaded in the grooves prior to turning the machine on. I would not purchase this macine again because of the rack designs.
