Not happy with the automatic defrost feature. Every few weeks the temperature rises from 0 up to 14 or higher in the freezer. This causes melting of ice in the bin, ice cream melting and moisture In prepackaged meat and foods. Once it gets down to zero, all packages of food have a thin layer of ice inside and look freezer burnt

I bought this to replace a previous KitchenAid counter depth fridge. This one has a freezer door that comes out askew. This happens when you pull the freezer drawer out on the left side of the handle. It comes out straight if you pull from the middle or on the right hand side. We were told that this is how freezer drawers are made now, but this makes the door seal incompletely sometimes, and now the ice in the bin has all frozen together and the ice cream has melted and refrozen.

After a few months the bottom drawers started freezing everything and the top shelf stayed at 60. Its now been 7 weeks and 5 service visits. Ive had the evaporator fan replaced. And now im waiting for a computer part. According to corporate its standard procedure. So glad i got a new fridge.

Freezing lettuce

One issue I've had is lettuce freezing in the main area of the refrigerator. The temperature was initially set at 36 degrees when I first noticed the lettuce freezing, so I changed it to 37 degrees. It happened again so I changed it to 38 degrees about a week ago. So far, that seems to be the right temperature for the lettuce.

KitchenAid ™ Product Failure & Unacceptable Servic

This has been one of the most frustrating product experiences I have ever had. We purchased a KitchenAid countertop refrigerator in December 2025. Within three months, the unit completely failed. On March 9, it began overflowing with water, and ice buildup in the freezer compromised the refrigerator™™s ability to function at all. We are now weeks into this issue, and the refrigerator is still not working. KitchenAid™™s response has been completely inadequate. The only solution offered is to send a technician every two weeks to attempt repairs. We are being forced into a prolonged cycle of service visits on a brand new appliance that is already clearly defective. At this stage, it is obvious the unit should be replaced. Instead, we are expected to continue waiting while temporary fixes are attempted, all while living without a functioning refrigerator. What makes this even more concerning is that KitchenAid has made it clear that their one-year manufacturer warranty only covers repairs. Even after explaining that we have a seven-week-old newborn, that we are losing stored breast milk, and that we have been without a refrigerator for weeks, there has been no flexibility in their response. There is no willingness to escalate or replace a clearly defective unit. The impact on our family has been severe. We have had to discard stored breast milk because we cannot maintain proper storage conditions. We have been relying on coolers that do not meet basic freezing needs, and we have incurred additional costs purchasing equipment just to get by. Our food expenses have increased significantly because we cannot store meals. This is not a minor inconvenience. This is a failure in both product quality and customer care. A refrigerator should not fail within three months. And when it does, the resolution should not take weeks with no clear end in sight. KitchenAid needs to take responsibility and replace this unit immediately. I will not be purchasing another KitchenAid product.

We replaced a 20 year old Kenmore/LG with this counter depth KitchenAid. The new fridge is a big upgrade in terms of looks and fit. Build quality is solid. We knew that we were losing freezer space, but this freezer is pretty small. Ice maker works well and water dispenser is one hand touch. This is not the most quiet refrigerator but overall we are very happy with it so far.

We purchased a KitchenAid 22 Cu Ft in september. Unfortunately, the light switch to the door was nonfunctional and could not be repaired and the refrigerator was deemed unfixable. They replaced this brand new refrigerator with the model mentioned above. The asked me to look at the specifications of the new refrigerator which I did. The details are very limited and there's no pictures of the product to compare the shelving and the details. It was not the same model, but very dumbed down. I assumed as it was a replacement. It would be the same or better. Unfortunately the product is far inferior to the product that was replaced. I called Kitchen Aid and spent an hour on the phone only to be told that I was stupid and that I should've realized it was different model. He also admitted it was cheaper. When I asked for a refund of the money difference, they laughed in my face. As far as the review is considered the freezer space is small and not efficiently laid out. The door bins were smaller and more cheaply made, and did not have the rubber mat liners as the other fridge did. The door handles are different with a rough finish and not as classy looking. Overall, I am very disappointed with Kitchen Aid and it's Customer Service as well as the performance of this refrigerator. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid product or deal with the whirlpool corporation again.

Refrigerator portion is fine but freezer door opens crooked on left side when door is slid open. Our previous Kitchen Aid French Door refrigerator did not operate this way. Was told by KA the freezer door is operating properly. Makes no sense to me.

No real bells and whistles with this model. The one thing I was looking forward to was the pull out wire freezer rack, but sadly it was not delivered with the fridge for some unknown reason. It™™s been weeks now and still not delivered to us. It does have a nice bright interior light tho.
