This stopped working 1 month after we received. Called and they told me to unplug it and it should reset and then call back if it continued. Worked a while longer and then it occurred again. Since built in, it is not easy to unplug and plug back in. Still under manufacturer warranty. Tech had to come out to order parts then weeks later came back to repair. After he made repairs it then stopped heating which was not an issue before. Said he'd have to order more parts & return. Then the day before my service appointment I got a message that they had to cancel appointment because the part was out of stock. I called Kitchenaid to see what could be done and they told me I had to obtain the part number and call back to try to expedite. They are the manufacturer, and I purchased directly from Kitchenaid, so they should be able to look up the part number. Nope. I obtained the part number and called back next day then they advised it's available. Not what I was told yesterday. I asked for a refund or replacement because they said it could take months they said to get part number and they said they do not offer that within the 1 year manufacturer warranty. So you mean to tell me they'd rather replace every part on a unit they know is a lemon than make it right? I had to go out and purchase a countertop microwave in the meantime. Multiple days of missed work waiting on a tech and still no working built in microwave. When I called the next day, I was told that the part was in stock which was completely different than what I was told the prior evening. Their authorized rep also refused to get parts directly from Kitchenaid and said they will wait on their distributor who has no estimated time of restock. They are supposed to replace with OEM parts but there is no guarantee if they are not getting direct through Kitchenaid so how do I know what they are even putting in my microwave. This should not be occurring with a microwave 8 months old that had problems in the beginning. So far they've replaced hood control fuse, UI board, interlock switches and has to order magnetron, capacitor & diode. Will never buy another kitchenaid product after this.

We just got this Microwave the 1/2026 and we have had someone come out and look at it 2 times. Everything checks out good. But when you cook Bacon it doesn't cook even and takes so much longer to cook. This is the worse Microwave I have ever had

User documentation could be better

I have this microwave on the recommendation of my kitchen designer. I would never have chosen this if it were just me. First, the interior is black - why? It's just dark and makes seeing spills harder. I received the "Owner's Manual" from the installer. Basically it's 19 pages of installation instructions and 2 pages of safety tips. What I really needed (and found after several days of looking online) was the "Control Guide." It goes into all the details about how to use the controls - except: portion sizes are given for most things in cups/liters or pounds/grams. Then others are just in liters. The the only description for casserole is small, medium and large in a range of liters. Not being especially familiar with the metric system, I assumed small would be a serving size for two people, but the reheating time was 4 1/2 minutes which seemed excessive. So I will figure it out on my own. At least once a week we just brush the front of the microwave and the light turns on. The tones are an electronic sound which I find annoying. If you are not in the room when they sound you would never hear them. I changed the volume to loud and it made no difference. The microwave works well when I program it - I'm not sure I would ever use the pre-programmed settings.

This microwave is the cadillac of all microwaves. I can't think of a thing it doesn't do good. Foods are heated evenly and quicker than expected. Sometimes i'm not sure if it's working because it is so quiet. We are still getting used to all the different Options that are available. The size is also perfect , since nothing moves. Ventilation is loud on high but that would be expected for good circulation. Low is very quiet. The unit fits great over our cook top and between our cabinets. Clean up is super easy ! I would highly recommend this product.

Heats quite wel and VERY fast. Keep an eye on what you are heating up to ensure it™€™s not in too long. Looks sleek. Still getting adjusted to the fan as I™€™m not sure it™€™s as strong as my previous one. Be mindful of size if you use a cover over your plates/bowls. I realized that this microwave is a bit smaller than my previous one so my 12-inch food/splatter cover no longer fit. Had to find one with a smaller diameter.

I bought this microwave as part of a full kitchen remodel primarily for the look because I was tired of my old above-range microwave protruding past the cabinets. I was thrilled by how it looked after installation. Very sleek and stylish, and the flush mount really added a classy look to my new kitchen (see photos). I use it almost exclusively for reheating so I can't really comment on how it performs for more "advanced" usage, but I will say that for my purposes it works just as well as the traditional microwaves that use the revolving tray technology. Overall, I love this microwave, but I deducted one star for the following reasons: (1) The cooktop light is very weak, and (2) the "end of cycle" sound can apparently only be heard by my dog, because I certainly can't hear it, even on the maximum setting.

Lets start with the good: The microwave is the only model that was cabinet depth, which is great. The capacity is smaller than most, but still ok for most things. The heating is lightning fast. The design is sleek and looks great with my other SS LG appliances in the kitchen. The HUGE problem is that it frequently has a vent fan error and the Kitchenaid customer service is extremely frustrating. It started having the error within a month and has had the same error multiple times a month since. During the random error periods it simply will not cook items and halts on its own. I do power resets and it still doesn't work. All the sudden after some time, it feels fine again and the vent fan works as designed. Why they added a fan that requires a vent to open and then close with a motor on EVERY SINGLE USE, which seems prone to frequent error, is beyond me. When I reached out to Kitchenaid to fix it, within a couple months of purchase, they would not guarantee that the repair would be covered if the technician doesn't find a problem when they show up, then I would be billed for the visit. Here is the problem, the error happens at random. How can I possibly ensure that it will happen on that day when the tech comes out???? This is a known issue, but they pretend like everything is fine. DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE!!!!!! The random false errors will drive you insane. I've take pictures and video, but that isn't enough for them. I say again, DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE!!!!!! Redesign your kitchen to allow for a standard microwave. Save your sanity.

Good over range microwave

Kitchen remodel removed counter space where we had the microwave so we went with the range hood model. Fan works good. It takes a bit of getting used to the controls on the inside of the door but not really an issue. Looks small but fits a full size dinner plate so plenty adequate for that. Four stars because it doesn't do as good of a job as our old one of even heating. Not terrible but definitely a drop off.

We bought this brand new and have yet to be able to use it. It has been 4 months! A technician has been to our house at least 5 times replacing every part and it still throws an error regarding the vent. The technician has submitted the paperwork necessary for a replacement and they were sent more parts to replace instead. The parts did not fix the issue. Kitchenaid/Whirlpool are just having us go in circles with no solution. We just simply want a replacement or our money back at this point. 4 months later we still have a microwave that has never worked since we bought it! The technician doesn™€™t even know what to do at this point. I have never been so frustrated with a company. How many times can you replace the same parts in the microwave before you deem it non-repairable? It has been at least 4 times now.

I bought this microwave as a newer version of the seven-year-old one I had previously. Looks nice and appears sleek, however, I have some concerns: -Lack of turntable means that food does not heat evenly. -Preset buttons do not seem to be the appropriate amount of time, specifically including potato, dinner plate, and hot water. -It™€™s not apparent when you buy this machine that the vent at the top of the microwave will open while it™€™s running and then subsequently close once the microwave stops. I™€™m concerned about this as a future issue for breakdowns. - interior of microwave is very small compared to its overall size -Price is extremely high for value, plus professional installation is essential

Mixed feelings about my new microwave

I've had this microwave for a couple months. It cooks great, but I'm having a few issues. It makes a thump sound after it's done cooking. Not sure what that is. And I don't love that you have to open the microwave to use the timer and most of the buttons. Odd set up, in my opinion.

Regret buying this microwave. Nothing but problems. One month old and constantly get error message f7e9. Repair tech has been out 3x now and even replaced parts and it still only works intermittently. Worst purchase ever.

We got this microwave because the builder that is remodeling our home recommended this brand. If the builder that places many of these appliances, why would you use anything else.

Flush look

We recently remodeled our kitchen and decided to get new appliances as well. I love the look of its flush built in design. I like everything about this Over-The-Range Microwave except for the ventilation. When cooking it doesn™€™t clear smoke well, my house had gotten really smokey and I had it on high. That™€™s why I couldn™€™t give 5 stars.

I love the microwave! It™€™s so quiet! I™€™m just learning to use it. I do wish it had a better instruction manual! I would give it 5 stars but I feel like I can™€™t do everything without a better owners manual.

Had I been able to obtain parts for my previous microwave, i would not have look for a new one. The new models (most of them) do not have a handle. Need to press sensors on the door to open, cook 30 seconds, 1 min & 5 mins, which means there are always smeary fingermarks on the door, which means I'm constantly cleaning the door. Also, steam from cooking on stove below causes smeary stuff on the door too. Cooks faster than the old one, fan has 3 settings which is more than before. Inside is narrower than previous one. Make sure a dinner plate fits inside when looking for a new one. This does fit a 10 in. plate.

Took it back to Lowe™€™s after six weeks they still couldn™€™t find parts for it so who pays or something and it™€™s gotta wait forever to get it fixed so the unit without available parts
